I dare you to put it down. Guys, this collection one novella and three short stories gets five stars! I highlighted a lot. Her emotions are authentic and heart-breaking. A writer I never heard of, a collection of short stories. So creative, so different. More than any other modern poet, Stevens was concerned with the transformative power of the imagination.

But really, I see all the complaints in small letters. I see all the good stuff in big letters, stealing my attention. But the unknown allusions were few, so in the end it was no biggie. A writer walks through the steps of building a story. He spends the rest of the time reflecting on his life, his family, and his work.
If you do pick this up, the first vignette may make you question whether this book is for you. The first vignette was uncomfortable and disturbing in an icky sort of way — I decided to read one more vignette to see where Awad would take Lizzie.
